Like the saying goes "Better late than never"
might add years to their lives really once the scales are removed.
Jws have no problem telling little kids that there is no santa claus. SAME THING!
Can't wait to hear the rest.

this is podcast 8 in the death or obedience series.. this was recorded on christmas day 2008.. after our last visit from two local elders my wife felt she could no longer be known as a jehovah's witness and had chosen to disassociate herself in november 2008.. we had been on a family holiday and had returned to find that one of the local elders who had visited us had warned off my mother-in-law from having anything to do with my wife - her daughter.
he also made false statements about one of my children.. i decided to confront this elder at the kingdom hall.
this podcast is the recording of our conversation.. notice how he denies making such statements to my mother-in-law and falsely accuses me of teaching her beliefs contrary to jehovah's witnesses.. i ask whether it's a sin to no longer be a jehovah's witness?.

how sad that the witnesses have nothing to celebrate.
the more i think about it since i stopped going to the meetings, the more i feel that spirituality and religion are about opportunities to give thanks and to celebrate life with family and friends.
christenings or name giving ceremonies celebrate the gift of a new life to a family.
If we still did human sacrifices to various gods would they be okay if we did them in Jesus's name?
This is silly for two reasons: 1) We, as Christians have never done human sacrifices to various gods. 2) Murder is sin in and of itself.
Would that include the ultimate test of JW worship - death by refusing a life saving blood transfusion or fractions for massive volume loss then having your story worshiped in the WT mag?
amazing - they did a thing on the house of yahweh - rhetoric sounds just like jws.
guess mine and tons more people requesting a show on mind control finally paid off.. www.drphil.com..
I just realized that this was originally aired last nov.
if you read the messages boards, JWs are discussed quite a bit.
Also next to Scientology, JWs have the longest list of links at Rick Ross's site - Go big or go home eh?
congrats

He ended the show with a call to raise awareness about mind control, organizations, & leaders that use it.
personal stories, be a guest
An active JW would have found it difficult to not see the similiarities with the examples shown.
I was having a pretty crappy day til now!

i went to the public talk and the speaker told us that child abuse is a problem in the catholic church but not so for jehovah s witnesses.. .
i wondered why he said that would that have been in the manuscript.
i know i told him about how it really was when he visited me at home.. .
How did you get three different ones?

Thank you Isaa. Well said.
When my husband all of a sudden STOPPED CELEBRATING it was really hard on the kids.
He printed out pages on the evil attached to our family gatherings that made it impossible for him to continue.
it sucked the joy right out of all of us.

personally i hate bible ping-pong.
i don't think it ever gets anywhere, i don't think it solves anything and i don't think the participants ever make any head room.
however i will say in this case, i have been proven wrong.
This is a really good video. Not because of what he is trying to prove, but how a JWs "BIG PICTURE" is very small and when one card is pulled, it all comes down.
I give the JW credit, I have never heard one actually think about what is being said without leaving right away, or use personal attacks with totally unrelated arguments.

exactly - eat the cake, open the present, BBQ that bloody meat.
because YOU KNOW THAT IDOLS ARE NOTHING you can't make them higher than your jehovah by hitting a pinatta.
Paul is acknowledging that there are people living in the superstitious world and you have to be careful not to feed their superstitions like JWs. They are one of the most superstitous bunch left on the planet. Their faith is weak so they are afraid of cake demons.

organization member tressa ballard, 62, left the jehovah's witnesses in 1990 and has since embraced evangelical christianity.
the colorado springs resident sometimes speaks at the meetings about how four of her five children who remained in the church refuse to talk to her since she left the faith.
"people can leave, but they will be shunned by family and friends," ballard said.. .
Sure they have a choice
Shun or be shunned
live or die
that is WT control enforced by each individual JW.
